It has been a year of false words. I have heard so many! But the good news is, I am ok and all is well. I believe in sharing my life with friends because as a Body, we need each other.Some people are very enraptured by prophecy. For them, the gift and their ability in it is more important than the person and the Kingdom of God. Jesus said you will know them by their fruit. He who would have a friend must make himself friendly, it says in Proverbs. We need friends! It’s God’s way of keeping us accountable and healed! The Bible says when we confess our faults to one another, we will be healed. It’s not only a good thing, but a necessary thing. When you determine to move into the realms of the gifts of the Spirit, you are going to encounter the enemy. Why? There are several reasons. One, we are in a warfare. There is a devil and he hates us because we are made in the image of God. Two, the Spiritual gifts help us in the warfare. The devil has his spiritual "gifts" of power, too! Don’t think if you ignore them, they will not operate. The enemy is not blind to this and we should not be, either. The Spiritual gifts are God’s equippings. The gifts of the Spirit equip you for your life and for ministry. And what is ministry? Conveying the truth and setting the captives free. Free from what? Free from the lies and deceit and destructions of the enemy that would even take a soul to eternal hell. Jesus said it is the truth that makes us free. He said that He came that we might have life and have it more abundantly. If we choose to advance in our Spiritual walk, we will learn Spiritual things. We can do nothing without the Word. Jesus was led by the Holy Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil and He could only succeed and overcome him by the Word, saying “It is written!” The devil played hardball and used Scripture right back, saying, “It is written,” but Jesus rightly divided the Word. We need to understand the Scriptures in a way that gives us mental (and physical) health. III John 2 says “I wish above all things that you would prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers.” Your soul is your mind, will, emotions and decision making ability. Every man is given the gift of faith in which to choose. Our strength may be weak in the beginning, but it can grow! When we ask Jesus for a right mind, one that is free from torment and guilt, He will help us. He said if you know the truth, it will make you free. Jesus said He is the Way, the Truth and the Life. He is that Living Word, that Bread from Heaven, food and healing for our souls. We need that! We live in a fallen world. Sin is the reason Jesus died, but Life is the reason He rose again. Jesus paid the price for our sins. In rising (from the dead), he gave gifts to men of ministry and supernatural abilities. No man can raise him or her self from the dead. There are many gimmicks out there, but only Jesus’ tomb is empty. Only God can raise the dead. Death reigns until Jesus comes on the scene. Why do you think so many of the movies and news stories are about destruction? It’s Satan’s glory. We don’t close our eyes to it, because the victims are people that Jesus died for. He did not die for the sins of a few, but for the sins of the whole world. No one was left out--the Bible says “who so ever will”! John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Begotten Son that who so ever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” How can we have everlasting life in a world where people die? When we accept Jesus into our lives, we are not just accepting man, but God. There are many impersonators but this God will bear witness with your heart and your spirit. It’s more than just emotionalism, it’s truth. Unless you are in an airplane reading this, most likely you are connected to the ground some kind of way. And if you are in a plane, you will eventually come down! The ground is real. If you are alive, you are breathing. Air is real. If you can read this, you are thinking--your thoughts are real. You can choose to stop reading, close your eyes and go another way. That choice is real. You can also choose how to order your life. Another thing is real and that is prayer. Through prayer, you can talk to God. He is real. You have a spirit man inside of you. It is dead to God until you invite Him in. But once you do, Life begins to be at work in you. The Bible says we are born [again] of incorruptible seed. It is the life of God that goes on even after we die. Our souls will live forever somewhere. They can remain dead in God, but will retain their awareness of the gift of life that has been offered. Scripture says that three things remain, and that is faith, hope and love. Alive people have hope! Dead people do not and that is torment. I have said all this to give a foundation of the Spiritual gifts, for they are based on Life. You know if you are alive or dead to God. If you don’t know, then assume you are not and ask Jesus to come into your life and help. He will, if you are sincere. God knows our hearts, even better than we do! It is why we must trust Him. The things that are seen give evidence to the things which are not seen. You can’t see the wind, but you know it is blowing when you see the leaves in the trees move. Something is going on in the ground to make the plants come up! There are unseen forces at work. Just as we see life, we also see death. And we see forces of death and life at work in people. We know that when something is nurtured, it tends to grow and prosper. And when something is neglected, it can die. There is a life and death force that goes beyond even the realm of our control. This is what we often call the forces of good and evil. Of course life is good in that we have choice and hope. In choice there is power. Enemy forces would choose to take that power away. This is important to know in discerning true and false words! When we don’t know the future and someone gives us a word about it, at least subconciously we program it in our minds. If a word or action threatens us, we look to put up our defenses. Many prophetic words today are very dramatic and therefore are entertaining. It’s terrible doom or awesome blessing. Some of it can be so overwhelming that we are grateful it does not come to pass! If we have been programmed toward death, then words of life bless us, help us and minsiter to us. But if they are not true words, then the hope deferred or denied can make the heart sick! Some people enjoy manipulating others with the supernatural, and if you are not wise and aware, you can fall victim to evil plots. To rightly divide a word of truth, you must know what the will of God is for your life. If you do not believe it is good, then death will be working in you. If you know the Words to life, then Life will be working in you. The favorite game of the deceiver is knowing something you don’t. This gives them “a power” over you. And if they won’t tell you, share with you or instruct you, you are most likely being manipulated. Of course they won’t say that, but your good sense inside is trying to. Most likely the words you are given, be it a sales pitch or “prophetic” word, will entice you, motivate you and inspire you. This can be good, but it also may be deceiving. If the words you get are dependent on the speaker, then the speaker has control over you. If the word is an event, then there is not much you can do except to wait it out. Here is where the enemy is active today! We are in a time of wars and rumors of wars. The power is in predictive words! If God has a plan, the enemy wants to distract you and get you off of it. If the words you get minister to your senses, then you can submit those words to the Word and will of God. If someone tells you that you are going to marry a married man or someone’s husband or friends will be killed, that does not line up with the Word! Jesus came to give life and fulfill the Commandments. Those “words” do not do that. If they tell you someone is going to give you a bunch of money but it is not the will of that person to give you the money, it may be a false word. If they tell you that you will be popular or have incredible favor, it may be a false word if it is not based on the Word of God. Living by the Word will bring favor and blessing! Maybe someone told you that you should give away your money or your time or you efforts in order to gain something. The Bible says, “No good thing will God withhold from those who walk uprightly.” If what the person says or does does not line up, it may be a false word! God loves you enough for you to get your own blessing from Him and not be entangled by a person! If there are strings attached, it may not be God. As I said earlier, some love you as long as it caters to them. But that is not the Spirit of the true and living God. Some of those things that are said may sound very appealing. But to overcome and counteract false words, you need to know that the will of God for your life is good.

Someone may paint a picture that life will be a certain way. But the Scripture says “Heaven and Earth will pass away, but My Words will never pass away.” There is some element of control we have over life, but ultimately there is a life and death force. Without God, the death force is at work. With God, it is overcome or being overcome. When someone gives you false hope or a false prophecy or you are not sure, remember that the will of God for your life is good and not evil. God has given us guidelines to live by and you can pray for wisdom and common sense. It helps a lot! He will give it to those who ask. Faith in God is believing that He is good. “Words” cannot hurt you if you are striving to live for His will. You may be deceived or doubt for a little while, but in the end, the truth will prevail. Do not lose heart! He is a good God.
