BREAKING TROUBLE OUT OF YOUR LIFE

Adapted from sermon notes - by Pam Clark

We all have more trouble than we need, thanks to the devil. But there are things we can do to break trouble out of our life. It takes a change of mindset.

We need a new view of God. Look at Habakkuk 3:8 and how he questioned the unusual:" Was the Lord displeased against the rivers? Was thine anger against the rivers? Was thy wrath against the sea, that thou didst ride upon thine horses and thy chariots of salvation?" He embraced a new mindset.

There are questions we need to ask in new or difficult situations:

Remember there is no condemnation in Christ Jesus. Romans 8:1

God is pleased when you want to get it right. He opens His way to you and that is what we want! For Jesus is the Way.

How many treat God, the Source of their life, as common and casual? We must be still and know that He is God. Remember when God said to Moses at the Red Sea: “Stand still and see the salvation of God”? Ever been in a hard place?

We must come to the place like Moses did where we must identify the trouble and the problem. It may not be what we first thought. We need to say like the old song, “Oh, it’s not my brother or my sister, but it’s me O Lord, standing in the need of prayer!”

In the stillness, pray. Ask. Jesus said to ASK. Ask to hear His Voice, His Word, His Truth.

Pray, ready to obey. We want to get rid of trouble!

A thought, a word or a Scripture will come, or maybe even an activity to do. Then it must be analyzed. This is where many fall down.

People want to get out of trouble, but they don’t discern. Pray for the spirit of discernment. God is giving you this word or this instruction for a reason!

Sometimes you might get a negative word. The Lord is allowing that so you will discern and come against the enemy just as Jesus did with the Word of God when He defeated the enemy by saying:"It is written." It is the Word of God that makes the difference.

You can’t fight a spiritual war without the Word of God, just can’t. You must get a sense of righteousness. You will never progress without a sense of righteousness -- This is a key thing!

Righteousness will say: "There is a right way and a wrong way." It won’t say, “What is my way?”

What else is it when you say, "There is a right way and a wrong way"? Wisdom! Wisdom has a personality! Wisdom speaks, calls and cries out. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. (Read Proverbs 8)

The mindset of righteousness has power. It has strength. This is the Mind of Christ which is Jesus AND the Anointing. The word "Christ" means anointing!

We want an anointed mind because Isaiah 61 says this is what the anonted mind does:

What happens when you get a right mind or a mindset of righteousness? After a while, you become aggressive against sin because you will see it as your enemy! This is also why we need discerning of spirits.

As we execute the vengeance of our God, we must do it the right way. This is not always easy to know, so we must stay in prayer and wisdom--which is the fear of the Lord. This spirit of wisdom is an asking submissive spirit: “God, is this ok?”

The Scripture says to come before God in fear and trembling. It’s not a milque toast spirit but a reverential respect for authority.

The power that we have has been vested in us--just like a policeman or someone in the armed forces or governmental office. But just as it was given, it can also be taken away if you disqualify.

God wants us to prosper. The enemy hates us and our blessing. This is why we must know the will of the Lord through prayer. When we know God’s will and keep an open mind, He can speak to us and give us new insight that we need!

As we discover the rightness of God’s way through discerning and maybe learning something new, then we will have power to come against the evil one who is bringing us the trouble!

When God moves by His Spirit in what we call “a move of God,” there is a force of the Spirit--of His righteousness. But just as God is strong, He is also concerned for the new wheat, the new baby Christians. This is wisdom for us to understand this.

God will let some things (like the tares, the unGodly) grow up together with the wheat because He does not want to damage the wheat until the Harvest. He is not being patient with the tares, as some often think, but with the wheat--even in it’s affliction.

Some junk we just have to live with for the good of the Body. So be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.

Through discerning and prayer, as strength comes from righteousness, you will have the ability, understanding and then power to break trouble out of your life. It’s in His righteousness which is good for everybody!
